April 9, 2018 - Bioindustrial Innovation Canada (BIC) is pleased to announce that is has made a COMM SCI investment in Greyter Water Systems, a Toronto-based company that has developed innovative water reuse technology that creates water-efficient buildings and home, addresses water scarcity, reduces water costs and achieves LEED fast and affordably.

BIC’s mission is to provide critical strategic investment, advice and services to business developers of clean, green and sustainable technologies. In 2016, BIC established the Centre for Commercialization of Sustainable Chemistry Innovation (COMM SCI) initiative program, which acts as a hub for the commercialization of sustainable chemistry and bio-based innovation. Bio-based start-ups and sustainable chemistry companies can participate in this program to remove barriers to commercialization and investments.

“We are pleased to be a part of Greyter’s unique approach to domestic water conservation and look forward to the growth of the Company,” said Wayne Maddever, BIC Portfolio Manager.

Last year, the company’s Greyter HOME solution was the winner of the “Best Green Building Product”, awarded by National Association of Home Builders’ during the International Builders’ Show in Orlando. The Greyter HOME is a residential appliance that recycles shower and bath water so that it can be reused for toilet flushing.

“We see a continued increase in the demand for our solutions and this investment will allow us to concentrate on ramping up production of the Greyter HOME product,” said Greyter’s co-founder and CEO, Mark Sales.
