Bioindustrial Innovation Canada signs WorleyParsons as COMM SCI Partner

BIC

NEWS RELEASE

SARNIA, Ontario - Bioindustrial Innovation Canada (BIC) is a not-for-profit organization based in Sarnia, Ontario. As a business accelerator, BIC’s strategy is to create a sustainable organization that can support the commercialization of clean, green and sustainable technologies. This can best be achieved through a strategy that directly supports the commercialization of early-stage companies while nurturing research and development of new emerging concepts that will be the next generation of start-up companies.

In 2016, BIC established The Centre for Commercialization of Sustainable Chemistry Innovation (COMM SCI) initiative, which acts as a hub for the commercialization of sustainable chemistry and bio-based innovation.

BIC continues to add partners, which helps the success of the COMM SCI initiative, particularly regarding cluster building in Sarnia-Lambton.

Sandy Marshall, Executive Director of BIC, recently announced WorleyParsons as BIC’s newest COMM SCI partner.

WorleyParsons provides customers with a wide range of engineering, consulting and advisory services that cover the full lifecycle from creating new assets to sustaining and enhancing operating assets. WorleyParsons is uniquely positioned to support BIC and their partners in achieving its goal of developing and growing a hybrid chemistry cluster in Sarnia‐Lambton.

“We are committed to assisting BIC and its partners across all project milestones from concept to startup using our deep technical knowledge to ensure their success and the growth of bioindusty in our community,” said Michael Odorico, Business Development Manager of WorleyParsons.

“All partners are committed to providing assets and services which can be leveraged against government commitments to support the successful commercialization of bio-based start-up companies. We are focused on creating a strong COMM SCI program with respect to building the bioeconomy in the Sarnia-Lambton region,” said Sandy Marshall.
