Bioindustrial Innovation Canada Welcomes Steve Persichetti

BIC

NEWS RELEASE

SARNIA, Ontario - Sarnia-Lambton is well positioned to become a North American leader in bio-industrial manufacturing, and is an emerging bio-hybrid chemicals cluster. Bioindustrial Innovation Canada has played a key role in attracting anchor companies to the region, which will form fundamental components in the cluster’s value chain. Securing the location of these anchor companies in Sarnia is expected to attract significant follow-on investment to the region.

BIC’s vision is to create jobs and economic value sustainably for Canada, with a focus on commercialization of sustainable bio-based chemistry and renewable material technologies.

To achieve the desired goals, Executive Director, Sandy Marshall, introduced new employee, Steve Persichetti who has accepted the position as Controller.

Steve was born and raised in Sarnia, Ontario. He graduated from the University of Guelph with a Bachelor of Commerce, Honours Degree in Accounting and Corporate Finance. Prior to joining BIC, Steve worked with a Professional Accounting firm where he enjoyed working closely with the agriculture industry and other local business owners while completing his CPA designation.

Sandy Marshall stated “I am very pleased that Steve is joining us as the BIC Controller and will lead us forward in this role. BIC has been well served by Samantha Whyte and we wish her well as she continues to grow her career."

Steve brings a wide range of professional experience including auditing, taxation, finance, and financial reporting to BIC. Steve aspires to generate economic growth for the Sarnia area and hopes to see Ontario and Canada become leaders in the use and development of sustainable technologies.

“I am thrilled to be a part of the BIC’s team. I have followed BIC closely as they continue to be a respected organization in getting SME’s in the bioeconomy industry started up and growing. I am really excited to be a part of that,” stated Steve.

With that focus in mind, The BIC Board strongly believes in its vision of “creating jobs and economic value for Canada.” BIC accomplishes this by providing critical strategic investments, advice, and services to business developers of clean, green, and sustainable technologies. Our expertise in commercialization builds a stronger Canada.
